Odisha crashed out of the 22nd Senior Women National Football Championship, losing to Manipur by 1-2 goals in the semifinals at Phagwada in Punjab today. Earlier, Odisha registering a 5-0 thumping win over Puducherry to qualify for the semifinals.
Odisha started their campaign with a walk-over against Jammu & Kashmir and then pulverised Chandigarh 8-0 in their second league match. In their last league match, Odisha eliminated Sikkim 2-0. The 20-member Odisha team was accompanied by coach Gitanjali Khuntia and manager Chitrasen Patra. The championship, which commenced on May 15, will conclude on June 5.

May 24: Odisha (Pyari Xaxa 82nd, 90th) beat Sikkim 2-0.
May 30: Odisha (Pyari Xaxa 35, 39, 90; Jasmani Samad 54, Sinulata Sahoo 71, Arati Sethi 92) beat Jharkhand (Shardha Kumari 47) 7-1.
June 1 (QF): Odisha (Subhadra Sahu 14, 22, 77; Sashmita Swain 39, Sashmita Ekka 64) beat Puducheery 5-0.
June 3 (SF): Odisha (Subhadra Sahu 86) lost to Manipur (Ngangom Bala Devi 49, Dangmei Grace 72) 1-2.
